TEST METHOD · ISO 105-C10
ISO 105-C10 measures colour loss and staining when a fabric is agitated in a soap solution. China’s GB/T 3921 follows it. There is no direct AATCC equivalent.

Method A: 40 °C, 30 min
Grey scales, 1–5
A fabric and multifibre composite is agitated in a soap solution, rinsed, dried and graded for colour change and staining. Chinese domestic specifications usually call for method A.
Our technicians follow a written work instruction for this method.
Soaping uses the same launder tester as ISO 105-C06, with soap instead of reference detergent.
Standard soap at 5 g/L in distilled water.
A 40 × 100 mm composite is weighed and placed in the container at a liquor ratio of 50:1.
Method A: 40 ± 2 °C for 30 minutes. Method B: 50 °C for 45 minutes.
Rinsed, dried at no more than 60 °C and graded. Graded with the ISO 105-A02 grey scale for colour change and A03 for staining (AATCC EP1/EP2 for AATCC methods), under the agreed light source in a light booth, by at least two technicians.

Export specifications usually use ISO 105-C06 or AATCC 61; C10 is common in Chinese specifications. Do not mix grades from the two.
Write ISO 105-C10 A or B. Method B is hotter and longer.
GB/T 3921 method A matches ISO 105-C10 method A.
C06 simulates laundering with reference detergent and steel balls; C10 measures fastness to soaping with a soap solution. Results are not interchangeable.
GB/T 3921:2008 follows ISO 105-C10:2006. Chinese specifications usually use method A, 40 °C for 30 minutes.
Most specifications for Europe and the US use ISO 105-C06 or AATCC 61. Use C10 when your brand or market names it.
